Curator Preston Fitzgerald will present a selection of some of the best contemporary ceramics, chosen for quality and collectability. More than eighty recent pieces by over twenty emerging and established ceramicists are arranged over several floors of a beautiful Queen Anne House in Chelsea, a few steps away from the Thames.
Preston has already introduced some of us to the highlights of the contemporary craft and design fair at Somerset House (COLLECT 2020, 2022) with his inimitable enthusiasm. He collects contemporary ceramics himself, and follows closely new art school graduates, keeping his finger on the pulse of ceramics evolution.
Contemporary craft has gained much recognition in recent years, and has been elevated to a recognised facet of fine art. This tour is tailored to those of you who seek valuable insights into its processes and narratives. And in this show, you will also be able to see how pieces fit in the context of a living interior.
Exceptional Art & Design very much hopes you will come to this lovely event, which will take place in the evening on Wednesday 14th September (7 to 8.30 pm approx). Places are very limited, as it is a small space, so please do book all tickets soon to be sure of a place.
This will be a valuable opportunity for participants to interact and ask questions about collecting contemporary craft in a relaxed and beautiful private house, with drinks and canapés, and afterwards there are many options for supper nearby!
