Newport Street Damien Hirst Art Tour

Our Exceptional Art Tour led us to visit the art scene of Newport Street, Vauxhall. We visited Beaconsfield Contemporary Art, laboratory run by artists that is famous for pioneering new art forms. Artist Evelyn O’Connor introduced us to her work while in residence there using readily sourced materials to form alchemical sculptural creations challenging the natural physical alterations of time. We then visited the first exhibition ever shown in Newport Street Gallery, the large-scale abstract and colourful works by John Hoyland (1934-2011) created between 1964-1982 and which are part of Damien Hirst’s art collection. Finally, we had lunch at Pharmacy 2, Damien Hirst’s new restaurant which had just opened a few days earlier.
