Venice Art Biennale & Side Events

Wednesday 12th June – Saturday 15th June 2024

With great excitement, Exceptional Art & Design invites you to visit the 60th Venice Art Biennale in June 2024. We hope that you will be able to join us in this exploration of the world’s most important art fair, as well as studios and galleries of La Serenissima.

Jolanda Chandler and Caroline Fuellberg have created a special programme for this exploration. Members of Exceptional Art & Design will have booking priority (please visit www.exceptionalart.co.uk to find out more about membership). For more information, please contact us at [email protected]

The trip in a nutshell

Join us in Venice, to experience the 60th edition of the world’s longest running and most important art biennial. This truly international exhibition takes the pulse of the times we live in. It presents the human condition, our challenges, and the gamut of creative possibility and beauty. It is a catalyst, revealing the nature of our society through inspirational painting, sculpture, textiles and installations from all over the world.

Our programme will include a combination of visits over two days to the Arsenale and Giardini sites: to explore the National Pavilions where each country presents a leading artist, as well as the curated exhibitions.

The trip will also include side excursions, which we are keeping flexible for the moment as we are still exploring various exciting options. We have booked very exciting visits to various traditional craft workshop, covering the glass, gold and textile tradition. This will also bring us to travel to the island of Murano.

On the last morning, you are invited to visit collateral events of the biennale, taking place in beautiful palazzi. Anyone whois joining you after the trip for an extended weekend will also be allowed to join our programme on the Saturday morning for free.

There will, of course, also be plenty of time to savour Venice itself, to wander through its lovely streets and canals, to taste La Serenissima’s exquisite food and coffee culture, and even, for those who wish it, to have a swim in the Lido on the last evening under the sunset (but this is not at all compulsory!). We will all stay in the Cannaregio District, which is full of Venetian life but free from heavy tourist traffic, and from which we can get quickly to the Biennale.

Above all, we want this to be a really very special trip, off the beaten track, so please bear with us while we bring hte last deatils to the programme! The fee is £790 per participant and the progrmames last from Wednesday evening until Saturday lunch time.
